As a nurse I can't even fathom any of this. Those nurses either need to find a new job, be fired, or seek psychiatric help.
When I have my nurses cap on for real I do anything and everything in my power to give my patients as much privacy, dignity and choice that I can. I try in every way possible to stop their pain, prevent their pain, or control their pain both legally and ethically as I can, and I would most certainly never if I could help it cause them any pain, discomfort or embarrassment.
For the past 70 plus years consumer groups poll thousands of people in the United States, and one thing they always poll for is, what profession has the most trustworthy employees, who do they trust the most etc, that sort of thing, and every year for the past 70 years, hands down and leading way out front the number one answer has always been a nurse.
And I gotta be honest with you folks here, I am proud to say "I'm a nurse", I am honored to be a nurse, and it's my privilege to be a nurse. I take my job very seriously, almost to a fault. I may on occasion have to cause some pain or discomfort to one of my patients, but my patients will always know that it's being done because it has to be and that I will do everything in my power to make them as comfortable as possible. I am not a push over on the floor by any means. There isn't any doubt from management, my patients, my staff, or anyone else for that matter as to who's in charge when I am on the floor, and they know better than to even question it, but because I am all business when I am running the floor they have the faith and confidence in me to trust me and to believe beyond any doubt that they are being taken care of the way they deserve to be.
Now in a play situation this isn't quite the way I do things, the exact opposite actually, lol, but then that's a story for a different thread.
