Has anyone had their clitoral hood retracted during an exam? I don't know if it depends on the size of your clitoris. I read about it in erotic stories and wonder if it happens in real life. Anyone have an experiences to share?
It's likely that my previous gyno doc exposed the clitoris slightly as he stretched the tissue around some, though he definitely did not touch it. He was always decent about doing an external once-over and checking things. My most recent exam with a female doctor was very quick and she definitely did no such thing and did not do an external examination at all as far as I could tell. (Rather disappointing experience, but that's another story.)
No, not for my wife.
Yes, this is quite common for me
Thank you all for alerting us to the potential problems. I will henceforth give a good & careful cllitoral hood check on all my dates. They deserve the best care I can provide.
Never heard of it during routine examination, however it's possible when doctor suspects that there is something wrong with clitoris area.
My wife has reported having the skin retracted on one occasion. She had a general infection in the area, and the doctor was giving her a thorough going over.
As her clit is so sensitive, she reporting being able to feel the (female) doctors breath on it, as she was being closely examined.
My clitoral hood is checked during my regular exams.
When I was much younger, I had a clitoral hood adhesion--I don't even remember having it, but it basically means that the hood doesn't retract over the clitoris. If you've heard of uncircumcised men having phimosis, I had basically the girl version.
Of course, it was written in the notes of my medical history that I once had the adhesion so in subsequent physical exams, even with other doctors, they'd try to retract my clitoral hood to make sure it was still okay. That part of the exam only took a minute, but as a teenager, I was very embarrassed to have the doctor focus on that part of my body.
Lovers have often commented on my larger clitoris. So during my last gynecological exam I figured I would "ask the expert". I did so at the end of the exam. It caused him to duck back down to take a second look. I could feel his gloved, lubricated finger lift the hood and travel around the shaft of my clit. I was certainly arroused by this addition to my exam, and the doctor confirmed what my lovers had already known!
Yes, Molly it would very much make my day at the doctor.
"It does feel like the doctor tries the retract my clitoral hood without directly touching it by the way he feels the labia minora and positions (slightly pulls it up, laterally and downward) near the clit."
My experience from my pediatrician visits is quite similar to lisagreene2 above.. I did not realize it in the first year or two but after I had started to play with my clit and other jewels a year or two later and had become to know how did it actually feel to touch your clit I realized that it felt very similar when the doc was pulling and stretching the tissues down there when examining the genitals.
It would definitely be one of the highlights of my playdoc exam.
Can't see it as part of a RL exam but I think it is paramount in a play exam.
It does feel like the doctor tries the retract my clitoral hood without directly touching it by the way he feels the labia minora and positions (slightly pulls it up, laterally and downward) near the clit.
This has never happened to me. I think it would be going to extremes -- one can only do so much; is something like this really worth the extra humiliation?
When my wife was trying to get pregnant she went to a teaching hospital. In the process of an examination with a student doctor present the doctor said he would examine her clitoris and then gently pulled back the hood. Her clit is very sensitive and she does not like direct stimulus. The doctor had the student retract the hood which made my wife embarrassed due to his shy blushing. It also made her wet which made her embarrassment worse.
Thing is the prepuce or hood of the clitoris as well as the crura (the body) are not commonly diseased (and if so occurs late) . Plus the sexual implications are such that most practicing physicians avoid it to avoid trouble.
I have never heard of it done except in maybe a passing check of the external
nope, then again I have never gone to a gyno in my life- im too scared
In play situations I generally retract the hood and just visualize the clit as part of the external vaginal exam. After a bi manual exam I try to spend more time and stimulate the clit.
I don't recall ever having that done during a real exam (and I'm pretty sure I'd remember it), but my play-doc does it. He actually saves it until near the end of the exam because he knows it will send me over the wall. Sometimes he'll do it at the beginning of the pelvic exam to get me started.
I have never had the clitoral hood checked, but I have to say, it would be a wonderfula addition. I wish my doctor would add that exam!
The external female naughty bits need to be checked for lesions such as carcinoma of the vulva, Paget's disease, and severe leukoplakia.
It seems to be that in most external checks, the doctor briefly lifts my hood. Typically you have a kinda of inspection of the labia as well.
I feel safe in saying that this is a part of the external genital check that is disregarded by most doctors. It should be included, it could detect a rare issue, but, because it is so erotically charged, is not done.
