Without trying to be rude or sound like a total bitch, I will take that one step further.
Comments like this crop up here more often than one might think. Most of us medical professionals on this board address those comments every single time. Do we keep repeating ourselves over and over and over and over and over because we don't have anything better to do?
While I can't speak for the other professionals on this board, I will say that I personally get offended sometimes by comments like that. Maybe I take things a little bit more personally than some of the others, but when people make comments along those lines it comes across as disrespectful in my opinion. And I for one can't say that I really appreciate that.
Making comments like this implies that we are not true professionals, that we don't respect our patients, that we severely lack integrity and morals as people, and that we don't respect our own professions.
Across the globe for the past probably 70 years plus, year after year when people are asked the question, "what kind of professional do you respect or trust the most?" Hands down it has always been either a doctor or a nurse, usually a nurse as a matter of fact. Either way it doesn't matter, don't let that diminish the way to my message. Why do you think that is?
If we as medical professionals as a whole, or more often than the 0.01 percent I mentioned earlier diddled our patients, made inappropriate comments about our patients, or what not do you honestly think we would be held in such high esteem? I would have to say, probably not. Just sayin.
And yes Doc, before you send me a text, I know, stop feeding the trolls, lol. I'm trying not to, honest, I just refuse to let this go without defending our most noble and highly respected professions.
