I have had my clitoris examined in varying degrees during almost every physical exam that I have ever had.
It seems to me that when an ob/gyn is doing the exam that it is more thorough and more extensive. GPs tend to pay less attention and take less time, which I havew always assumed was because they really don't probably know what they are looking for or at. All they remember is that they were taught in Med school that during a routine physical they should check the genetals.
The ob/gyn on the other hand knows that on which he is gazing or squeezing and how it is aupposed to present during examination.
I once had an exam when I was in grad school because I was going overseas on a research project and it was done by an older female doc that obviously enjoyed making the whole experience as embarrassing and painful as she could. After having that old bag pull hair that wasn't meant to be pulled, poke things that would have been best if left unpoked, squeeze, pinch and twist things that were not made to be mistreated in such fashion, I was sore for several days. I still sometimes think back on that experience and wonder if she was really trying to inflict pain (which I mostly believe was the case) or if she really didn't know any better. Between her ice cold insturments and perssonality and the punishment she inflicted, I left her office in tears.
