does anyone know how many soap suds enemas can be taken safely in one session ?
Listen to your body, not just the first time you try multiple, but during any and every enema, you should pay full attention to your body and not hold it to any expectations of how much you can take.
Your body will answer that question! You feel light headed, or dizzy, or get blurry vision, or a headache, BACK OFF!!!
I have had as many as 4 SSE in a day, sometimes with a rinse sometimes no rinse. I have found that my bowel habits are off for a couple of days if I do not rinse after the soap.
If I'm using a bag and not a bulb syringe, I reqularly do two soap suds enemas followed by at least 1 plain water rinse.
I use about 2 teaspoons of castile soap in my 2 quart bag. More than that limits how much liquid I can get in and I
prefer to do the full 2 quarts. On a few occasions I have over filled the 2 quart bag for a little extra pleasure.
It depends very much in the strength of the soap solution. The size of the enema matters, but strength seems to be more important. I can do two SSEs, quite large, if not too strong. And then follow these with two rinses. I like to use an isotonic salt solution for the rinses, so that I'm not up peeing all night. If I overdo the soap, I can't even handle a decent rinse.
Just yesterday I did two sessions that were spaced about 4 hours apart and another this morning when I got up. Each session started with a 3 quart Ivory soap bag that was followed up by two 3 quart rinse bags. I've felt great all last night and today; this was my first attempts since last October and they certainly felt great taking them and getting a good clean-out.
My rinse enema is a 2qt enema. I usually get 1 rinse enema although at times I have received 2 rinse enemas.
I would say one soapsuds enema and one rinse three or four times a week would be safe.
I too use Dr Bronner's Lavandar Castile soap (about 2 tablespoons/qt ), and give myself two to three 2-qt enemas, followed by a couple warm salt water 2-qt rinses. That seems to be a good regimen for me, but it's not always a hard & fast rule. Often it depends on how much private time I have, as to what quantities, and how many I do. Occasionally, I'll follow this up with a couple good coffee enemas.
Usually only one. I use Dr. Bonner's Lavender Castile soap but only a tablespoon or so. Any more really gives me more cramps than I can handle. I have done 2 SSEs in a row but not often. Usually the second and third are warm water enemas using a colon tube.
Janet s `how large is your large rinses
I usually do two or three soapy enemas. I like to use baby shampoo. It is very mild and smells great. Sometimes I rinse with plain water, sometimes I don't. Doesn't seem to matter whether I rinse or not.
I usually do one soapsuds enema followed by one or two rinse enemas but I have taken as many as three Ivory soapsuds enemas in a row. After the third I was begining to feel a little nauseous and decided I had hit my limit.
I was given 4 and 5 soapy enemas during a session by my mother who was a nurse and I do not remember any ill effects.
Someone earlier wrote that one should listen to their body... I believe that is the best advice. Soap is an irritant. Well so are hot peppers & even whiskey. But lots of us enjoy them... It's kind of the same thing... Only we're not talking about one's mouth. LOL & I like hot peppers & whiskey. Neither was ever a crime in my book...
a lot of them DO blow bubbles out their ass, you just dont SEE it.....
I don't do soap suds enemas and don't see the point in putting an irritant up up my butt. Why not take an enema that is enjoyable and not irritating? I guess it is to each his or her own, but I am not one to use soap. If you are one that does have to use soap I guess you could try and see if you can blow bubbles out your butt. I don't guess that would be something that could be done on Americas Got Talent, however.
i've never done more than 2 in a row. my body tells me to stop then. like someone else said, just listen to your body.
I had a Tabers years ago, and did the same thing, Jimmy.but I'll tell You, i've taken hot soapsuds enemas all my life, and never had Any problems. most of the time with no rinse.I've always been a Yogart lover, and for the past 10-15 yrs, I have been taking Acidophilus, and no matter how MANY-BAGS I take, I never have any problems.only once, She made the water too hot, and I was loose and hurting for 4-5 days. Tabers also had a recipe for a turpentine and Soapsuds enema, back in the 70s, which I tried. it was stimulating, kind of like peppermint, but I wasn't to keen on putting turpentine inside Me,so I didnt continue doing it.
I seem to always start out thinking I'll take a series of 3 full-bag soapy enemas using either Ivory or Dr. B's - but lucky if I wind up doing 2. Rarely have I taken a rise enemas.
As a teen, I found a medical dictionary among my aunt's books. It was probably the Merck Manual, or Tabers. I would look up everything to do with enemas, colons, etc.
When reading the various types of colitis, one thing jumped out at me. One entry said, "Soap colitis". I read a description and it said something about an irritation from using too many SSE's for long periods of time. The book was published in the early 50's. I guess physicians could expect to see soap colitis once in a while, as this time was in the "Golden Age". The book never did say how many SSE's would cause soap colitis.
all You Guys and Gals, who, like Me, would love to go back in time and experience that scary First real adult enema over Mommy's knee, just need to tell your other half that you want them to teach You what getting a real Enema is all about, and you want them to fill the Bag to the TOP,and ignore your protests, because Your giving them COMPLETE POWER over You,until Their done....Its Exciting!!
my Ex has given Me 5-6 two qt. soapsuds enemas in a row to clean me out,and it did return 'clear'.after I got the Klistra 4qt open top,it increased to 3qts.suprised the hell out of me!!!I never thought I'd be able to take that much, and couldnt have done it without Her taking control.the last time She unpluged Me, She wasnt feeling well, and decided to get it over-with quickly, after I showed Her a many posts in favor of high- volume soapsuds enemas. She read a couple of posts by women who were given enemas in the Labor room who testified that the Nurses refilled the enema can when the first one emptied. that sealed My fate, and My ex. filled the Klistra with 4qts of hot Ivory soapsuds. She never told Me what I was in for,and I couldnt see the bag, as I was on my left side, and She was behind Me.I felt like I was 8yrs old, getting my first adult enema with an enema bag!!she gave Me the WHOLE BAG, and before it was empty, I was on My knees and elbows panting like a race-horse. never had CRAMPS like that before!! 3 more like that, and I was exausted, but I felt like I was 20yrs younger!! she gave Me 1 two qt. rinse. I dont worry about Flora,as I take Acidophilus every day....
I have seen many posts from nurses stating that in the golden days hospitals gave soapsuds enemas till clear as a prep for barium enemas and surgery, and on the Voyforum, I've read posts about labor room soapsuds enemas where the nurses refilled the two-quart can when the first one emptied......Marlene stated her Aunt, who was an RN,did the same thing!! quite an Enema!!!
I got really stopped up once when I was about 13 or 14 years old and it took 5 or 6 bags of soapy water and a couple of plain water rinses and the whole afternoon to get me cleaned out but I felt much better afterward.
I have, once or twice, needed as many as 5 to get to a clear return.
Does anyone know if soapsuds enemas (even if followed up with a rinse enema) can over time lead to irritable bowel or colitis?
For a soapy enema, I take a hand-size bar of ivory soap and cut it in half and then cut the halfs in half again, and then cut each piece in half again. Each piece is then disolved for a one 2-qt enema. I find that I can't retain or take more volume. From others experience, is this because I'm using too much soap?
My record is about 4 on one evening. Up to 3 qts.
Having gone through 4, 2-bag session with Ivory Soap, i found that I had gone beyond my limit. I did not know that until the next day AND the next day...loose and burning. However, at the time of the enemas, well, that was most excellent. I try to control my urges to continue the soap. 2, 2-bag and I TRY to switch to tap water with a little salt in it.
