RN1993's post is very interesting considering my experience a couple years ago at the dermatologist for a skin exam. At that exam, the female doctor did all of my gown shifting and underwear lowering and raising for me. The exam was very professionally done but I was not anticipating the doctor to be so hands-on regarding disrobing.
There were 3 separate portions of intimate exposure. The first was when the doctor asked if she could examine my backside. I gave consent and much to my surprise, she pulled my shorts down all the way in the back and then spread my cheeks with her bare hands.
Second, she asked permission to examine my pelvic region and hips while I was seated at the edge of the exam table. I consented and once again, she took ahold of my shorts and lowered them to just above my genitals.
Finally, she asked if she could take a look at my genitals and I gave permission. She put on gloves, walked over to me (I was lying down with my gown raised above my underwear), and without saying anything pulled my shorts down completely exposing my genitals.
I was 100% fine with the doctor's actions even if they were unexpected. The fact that she explained what region of my body she was examining and asked permission before actually examining those parts, made it professional in my book. However, I can't help but think that someone else may find this doctor's actions inappropriate. After all, it wouldn't have taken any more time to lower my shorts myself in each of those situations.
What does everyone else think? I normally would agree 100% with RN1993, but I did experience a completely professional real exam with the doctor performing all disrobing. It's a touchy ( no pun intended) subject, no doubt.
