Has anyone ever been to The Little Clinic, which are located inside select Kroger, Fry's and King Soopers stores in Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee?
I received info in the mail about them this week and am curious to know if anyone has ever tried them. They didn't take my insurance last year so I've never been but since my insurance is changed, they might accept it this year. The ad says they are open seven days a week, including evenings and no appointment is necessary, which might be convenient for people who work first shift during the week. The info says that if you don't have health insurance, the out-of pocket rates are lower than emergency rooms, urgent care and primary care offices. Blood pressure checks are free so if you want to go just to be seen by a doc, you might enjoy that.

They're the doc-in-a-box type clinics that treat common family illnesses and minor injuries, give vaccinations, perform camp, sports, school or life-event physicals and provide wellness services including pre-employment health screenings, tobacco cessation and biometric screening, systemic steroid injections, Toradol and Phenergan injections. They're staffed by Licensed and Board-Certified Nurse Practitioners and/or Physician's Assistants and are accredited by The Joint Commission. I think Walgreens has a similar doc-in-a-box clinic called the Take Care Clinic but I haven't been to them either.
I usually go to Norton Immediate Care when I'm sick or injured. I was practically a frequent flyer every few weeks with symptoms of a urinary tract infection before I was diagnosed with interstitial cystitis. Thankfully, I haven't had to go there since much since that diagnosis. I preferred to go to Immediate Care instead of my primary care doc because usually I was feeling too bad to drive and since they were open until 9 p.m., my boyfriend could drive me there when he got off work. Or because I was sick or hurt and couldn't wait until Monday to be seen.
Have you been to The Little Clinic? What was the experience like? Didi you go there for illness, injury or fun? What kind of exam or tests did they perform on you? Have you been to any other doc-in-a-box clinic? How does it compare? Would you go back again?
