Physical from Osteopathic doctor

The first time I had a physical from an osteopathic doctor, he was close to retirement, I was stripped to briefs and he combined the normal checks, moving head-to-toe with osteopathic ones: pull against me; push against me, etc. This time the doctor was quite young. He brought me into his office which also had an exam table in it. A female nurse had taken bloodwork and checked vital signs and weight. I sat, dressed, across from him as he went over my history on his laptop. Then he had me sit, without shoes and socks, on the exam table. Eyes, ears, mouth. I was asked to take off my shirts. He checked heart and lungs. He had me lie back on the table and checked organs. He apparently doesn't check prostates unless bloodwork indicates a concern. He asked about genitalia but didn't examine mine.

Back to the desk, he went over cholesterol findings and labwork. He had models and projections on the wall. There was absolutely no sense of being rushed or of other patients waiting.

Since I suffer from white coat syndrome and an urgent care facility was on route back, I stopped in. I was also curious about same day findings they might see for comparison. The place had changed. Same at front desk. Solid lab person doing drug screening (pre-employment rapid test). Much staff chatter heard while waiting. I saw a female, not male, doctor. I remained completely dressed instead of underwear and gown as before. And the cost had gone from $80 to $140. For those wondering, the basic cholesterol check and physical from the osteopathic doctor cost $189. He sent me home with physical exam results and applicable printouts. The wait had been two days. I have scheduled a follow-up with osteopathic manipulation for January.
