My fiance occasionally indulges me by wearing diapers, but never will wear them by herself, they are just not her thing. So imagine my surprise when she asked if I could leave some Tena Protective Underwear out so she would not have to worry about her period leaking at night. I work the night shift and am not home between 9pm and 8am, and so would not be there the majority of the time she would be wearing, but she wanted them anyway. I asked her about it, and she admitted that she much preferred to wear the pull-ups during her period as it was much more secure and comfortable than wearing a pad, and certainly much safer than using a tampon at night.
As a side note to those that do use tampons at night, be sure you aren't leaving them in for more than 8 hours at a time. I work as an RN in a hospital and have more than once seen patients in for Toxic Shock Syndrome who have left tampons in too long. One lady had developed sepsis, and had both legs amputated below the knee, all her fingers amputated to the first knuckle, had a tracheostomy stoma to breathe and was also completely incontinent. Just a warning.
