My upcoming physical with a new doctor!

Hey everyone I got a new doctor today and have a physical coming up next month. He is a older man who has been a doctor for 50 years. I am anticipating my exam I wonder if he will have me fully undressed. I also wonder if he will do a quick external vaginal exam or full on internal. The suspense is killing me!

You never know. When I worked at an OB/GYN office it depended on the doctor and what you are there for. I mean some women were just changing doctors for one reason or another. If they were on birth control one doctor would ask if she is comfortable with that, how long has she been on it, any complications, etc. Then if her script was still good they would schedule her when her script was about to run out. No exam or anything.

Then some doctors would do a full pelvic. If you are there for birth control they will usually do a full exam. If you are changing from one doctor to another and you haven't been seen in a year they will usually do a full exam. If you have had problems for sure a full exam. If you have never been seen he or she will do a full exam. It just depends on why you have a new doctor.

@Tabitha32 I am due for a annual physical but not well woman. So I know I will get some type of unclothed exam idk if he will take a look at my lady parts or not. We will see.

Good luck at your exam! And please give us all the details, including what you wore to the appointment, whether you changed into a gown/vest/drape, etc., what exams were performed, and how you felt about it all.

@rabidbiker I will forsure and I even want to take pics of me changed into the gown and before hand. To the exam I am going to kinda dress up wear my makeup nice but not to over done.

Sounds like a wonderful rush of anticipation and wonder about what will happen once you are in the same room together. Not knowing where things will go or how each part of your examination will unfold. As the days count down I'm sure it will only get more intense and make your heart beat faster. The exam gown is waiting for you : ) What do you think will be the first thing you notice about your new doctor ?

Best of luck both controlling your anticipation and your anxiety as you reach the exam room! For me, there is nothing more intense - both a mix of anxiety and anticipation - when seeing a new doctor for a physical. In my experience, the exam has generally been very thorough, which makes sense, and touched all bases so to speak! One thing for sure, it didn't matter how I dressed or my selection of undergarments. I was required to remove all and given a gown or vest. Either way, there was a lot of exposure to allow for all the inspection and probing. Did I forget to mention probing? Having some spare tissues helps.

I will forsure and I will take pictures in the gown. I am curious to know if they use cloth or paper. I am also hoping they have me get changed out right away and weight me in the hall with a gown. I am also curious about the probing I am not due for a gyn exam but I hope he does one anyways.
