A G, I can understand where you are coming from. However, I had a female (friend) dermatologist, 3 skin cancers this decade, and everytime I was with the doctor, there was always a nurse with us. Now, the nurse was typically notating in my chart what the doc was describing as she examined my epidermis. And, too, going a little further than normal, there was no discomfort for me, or sense of a 'trust' issue at stake.
Current internist is a woman, also a friend, and she is a gr8 doc. Sometimes there has been a nurse with us, and others not so. Again, I've never felt anything but the best of medical care. And, if I felt something untoward, or disquieting, then I would probably seek out another physician.
I've always had a tendency towards friends as my physician, as I feel that they have more at stake in my health, vs. somebody who doesn't know me from Adam...
Now, go out and make a gr8 evening of it A G; you are in a wonderful country to do just that...
