We have just been to the pool. After our swim, my daughter and I went into the changing room, took off our costumes, had a shower and walked to our lockers. A woman came up to me and said it was disgusting that I was walking about in my state – I am 5 months pregnant and nude so I am not sure which one she found the most offensive..
Many of us have come here and expressed our love of being nude, but why should we have to. We are born nude and until puberty are allowed free range to roam about naked and then that’s it – society demands we cover up.
Embarrassment about nudity is nurture not nature. Watch a documentary about newly discovered tribes (rarer now I accept), and for the most part they are all nude. So why can they find nudity normal, and our society does not.
I went to a private mixed sex school but the dorms were single sex. Nudity was common especially during the summer as we never bothered with night clothes and you could tell the new ones because they found the nudity intimidating. Once they got use to it I would ask them why they had been so embarrassment and they said that they had been taught at home that nudity was wrong. Away from their parents overpowering moralist views, they were able to develop their own sense of right and wrong.
Having come from a school where there was constant bully about body shape, at the private school, there was not any - why, well because everyone was so confident about body image that it had no effect.
We had a nudist club there and it was great, but when we had an exchange trip to Germany where you are allowed to be nude in public parks, I found it spooky because it was in a public place and I expected hassle, and in there saunas nudity is mandatory as several of our teachers found out.
Why is it that social sets aside places on beaches where we can practice what is so natural, as though we were doing things that were unnatural or shameful
When I first went onto a nudist beach I thought that there would be people there with massive boobs and dicks that scraped along the floor – and there were, but there were also people who had mastectomies or had their body scarred though surgery and they were perfectly happy with their bodies – and so they should be.
I have a friend who comes over just so that she can be nude with others, as her husband finds nudity a sin and immoral.
Why do people find nudity so offensive?
Thanks you, rant over, good night.
